Located in Tusen Takk’s Main House, Director Geoffrey Peckham’s collection of photographs, spanning the history of the medium, and library of over 700 volumes are available to artists-in-residence by appointment.
The photography collection is uniquely built on an aesthetic formed out of a perception that photographs show us the world, yet what’s shown also transcends the world to form something new. Great images go beyond pure representation and give us something words cannot describe. The collection contains works by Timothy O’Sullivan, William Henry Jackson, Charles Aubrey, Roger Fenton, Eugene Atget, Edward Steichen, Edward Weston, Manuel Alvarez Bravo, Andre Kertesz, Walker Evans, Robert Capa, Berenice Abbott, Robert Frank, Garry Winogrand, Lee Friedlander, Frank Gohlke, Irving Penn, Jo Bentdal, Rebecca Norris Webb, Alex Webb, and other’s work. Read more about Geoffrey’s collection and collecting philosophy.
The library includes books on different art disciplines as well as a selection of literature and philosophy titles.
