As part of a developing partnership with Commongrounds, Tusen Takk is delighted to announce the opening of an exhibition by winter 2023/23 resident Juan Giraldo. A Letter to Paterson features a series of fifteen photogravures printed during Giraldo’s residency at Tusen Takk, a 'love letter' to Paterson, NJ, the city where he was raised.
A time-intensive and carefully calibrated process involving digital printing and printmaking, photogravure afforded Juan a special and more intimate way to edition this series of photographs taken in Paterson, NJ. The series includes a range of images, from those depicting moments of everyday life, the native sons of the city–monuments to William Carlos Williams and Alexander Hamilton–to sites of personal significance.
